HI, I AM JULIA DEAN.

I am a student at the University of Michigan studying Cognitive Science with a focus in User Experience Research and Design. I take classes in graphic design and coding in order to tailor my education towards my career goals.

On campus I am on the E-board of Dance Mix, the largest student-run dance performance at Michigan. I am also on the executive team for my hip-hop dance team, EnCore. As a member of this team, I organize everything from weekly practice schedules to our performances. Additionally, I was selected to be a Creator in Shift Creator Space. As a Creator, I created an app concept called Unmissable during my junior year. This year, I am teaching myself how to sew my own garments and upcycle old articles of clothing.

In my free time you can find me dancing, styling clothing, creating designs, listening to music, eating oatmeal, and spending time with the people I love!

I strongly believe in the value of learning. I believes the ability to learn is the strongest attribute a person can have. No job, internship, class or relationship is useless. You can always find a lesson or something learned to bring with you after these experiences. If you can learn, you continue to grow throughout your life.
